On November 28, Festus Lee Oromo, 25, fell to his death from the 14th floor of Heartland Apartments, Block B, on Kindaruma Road in Kilimani. He landed on the roof of a parked Nissan Tiida, where neighbours found him with broken legs and ribs from the high-impact fall.
Earlier in the evening, Oromo had checked into the short-stay apartment accompanied by two people: Lilian Moraa Mbeki, 48, and Patrick Jagongo.
Mbeki and Oromo met on Tinder in 2024, and reportedly had several interactions. She holds dual citizenship in Kenya and Costa Rica.
The three stayed together in the 14th-floor apartment for hours.
At some point during their stay, an argument broke out and culminated into Oromo’s fall.
When police arrived at the apartment soon after the fall, they found the woman asleep in one of the bedrooms.
“We were drinking. After I got drunk, I went to the bedroom to sleep. I left the two men in the sitting room. I learnt about his death after hearing the commotion,” she told investigators.
Jagongo had already gone home and was later traced and arrested in Kahawa West.
Inside the room, investigators recovered assorted drugs and alcohol, Oromo’s clothing, his identification documents, and other personal items.

What Police Found Inside the Apartment
Court documents show the apartment was in disarray.Furniture was displaced. Items were scattered.
The condition of the room pointed to a possible violent confrontation before the fall.
Building records also revealed that several other guests had accessed the same apartment in the days leading up to the incident.
Police are now reviewing visitor logs and CCTV footage to establish who the guests were and whether any of them interacted with the suspects.
Postmortem Results
A postmortem conducted on Oromo’s body revealed extensive trauma consistent with a high-impact fall. The report listed:
- Serious injuries to the head, chest, and abdomen
- Multiple organ damage
- Fractures in both legs
- Major blunt-force impact
The car he landed on was also severely damaged, further confirming the force of the fall.
The case is being handled as a murder investigation until evidence suggests otherwise.
