Former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst died on Sunday morning after jumping from a building in Manhattan.
Cheslie jumped from the 29th floor of the building, dying instantly. Police arrived at the scene as soon as they were informed that a woman had jumped.
Just before jumping, the riveting beauty had shared her picture on Instagram captioned: “May this day bring you rest and peace.”

Kryst, who held three degrees from two universities worked in civil litigation at a law firm. She worked to help prisoners who may have been sentenced unjustly get reduced punishments, free of charge. And had also been employed by the news site ExtraTV as an entertainment correspondent. She also ran a blog on fashion.
Her family confirmed the news of her passing eulogizing her as a light that inspired others around the world.
“In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined. Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA. But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will live on.”

Cheslie left behind a note saying she wanted to leave everything to her mother, a former pageant competitor herself who was crowned Mrs. North Carolina in 2002. According to sources, the note did not include a motive.
