The family of Victoria Mumbua Muloki, a taxi driver who went missing on September 27, has refuted claim police claims that she has been found.
She disappeared after taking a round-trip ride from Mombasa to Samburu.

Despite an official statement from Police Spokesperson Resila Onyango stating that Mumbua was discovered unconscious in Migori, her family insists they have not received confirmation of her whereabouts.
On Monday evening, Mumbua’s mother, Anne Kanini, initially reported that they had received information about her daughter’s recovery.
“We were told she would be airlifted to Mombasa,” Kanini said.
However, by Tuesday afternoon, the family had not seen any updates or heard from authorities regarding Mumbua’s condition.
Dr. Onyango’s earlier report suggested that Mumbua was found injured near Uriri Dam, with serious injuries to her head and hands.
“We found her unconscious near the embankment and evacuated her for treatment,” Onyango stated.
However, these claims have been met with skepticism by Mumbua’s family.
Missing Female Cab Driver’s Family Conned
Confusion escalated when the family discovered they had been deceived by someone posing as an officer from Migori.
Mbithe Muigai, Mumbua’s niece, revealed, “Someone called our pastor, claiming they needed Sh20,000 for her airlift. After we sent the money, the caller vanished.”
The family is now left without answers, stating, “We have not found her, and we do not have any information regarding her whereabouts.”
They are planning to visit the regional police headquarters to seek further clarification.
Meanwhile, detectives have made an arrest related to Mumbua’s case. Edwin Ngetich Kipkemoi, 33, was apprehended driving a stolen vehicle believed to belong to her.
He was intercepted at Pipeline Junction while heading west without Mumbua.
As the search continues, Mumbua’s family continues to pray for her safe return home.
