Barely weeks after gospel musician Betty Bayo was laid to rest, her sibling has turned against her husband Hiram ‘Tash’ Gitau, raising tensions over her estate, donations, and children.
Her brother, Edward Mbugua, took to TikTok to claim that the family does not have access to Bayo’s children, Sky and Danny. And insisted that their biological father, Pastor Victor Kanyari, should have full custody.
“Kanyari is the biological father of Sky and Danny. We share blood with him. He should care for the children,” Mbugua said.
He also claimed that is controlling money donated to Bayo by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
And that he wants all of his sister’s assets placed under her children. “Everything that belongs to my sister should be for the kids. These are their mother’s assets. There is no discussion,” he stated.
Mbugua alleged that Betty Bayo and her widower, Tash, were never legally married. He said their wedding celebration “did not follow official rituals.” “Everything is with the next of kin. No one married anyone legally. It never reached that point,” he added.
He further revealed that the family was largely unaware of Betty Bayo’s illness, which he described as mild headaches and a runny nose, with no signs of serious illness.
His statements have sparked social media debates about inheritance, custody rights, and the legal status of Bayo’s marriage, highlighting a growing rift between the family and Tash Mbugua.
