Bonventure Monyancha Kebati, also known as Director Trevor, has refuted allegations of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Mungai Eve, during the course of their relationship.
In a chat on the ‘Iko Nini’ podcast, host Mwafreeka posed the question, “Did you ever beat Eve?” Trevor responded and denied ever laying a finger on Mungai Eve. He claimed that Mungai Eve was the one who put the story out there using her friend’s phone. However, she lacked the evidence that he ever beat her up.
“No, the story is that Eve went to spill the tea to Edgar Obare using her friend’s phone to cover her tracks. Because do you think if Eve had evidence that I hit her, she wouldn’t have presented it to Edgar? Could you imagine going to Edgar and claiming, ‘My man is abusing me,’ and you have evidence on your phone but you don’t show it? Of course, Edgar would say, ‘Send the receipts,’ and if she had evidence, she would have sent it right away,”
Director Trevor explained.
Director Trevor Claims Mungai Eve Assaulted him
Director Trevor instead flipped the script and claimed that Mungai Eve was the one who assaulted him using a ‘mwiko,’ which is a wooden cooking stick. This resulted in Director Trevor sporting an elastoplast band on his forehead. He recalled, “Alinichapa na mwiko. And I had a bandage on my forehead.”
The founder of Kenya Online Media added that the narrative of a girl beating a boy is ugly, saying, “So, hiyo story ya dame akipiga boy ilikuwa inachoma. (The story of a girl beating a boy paints a bad picture.)”
And apparently, that is why Mungai Eve, in a bid to downplay assaulting her then-boyfriend, changed the whole story. Director Trevor stated, “She went to alter the narrative so that it doesn’t turn into a story of the boy hitting the girl, and so that it doesn’t become a big deal.”
Cause of the Fight
When asked, “How come she beat you with a mwiko?” Director Trevor answered that Mungai Eve got angry because he was using her charger. He explained, “The problem was that I used her charger, she got worked up, took my phone, and threw it.”
Mungai Eve, who told Andrew Kibe that Director Trevor is immature, is yet to publicly address the allegations. She recently opened a new YouTube channel ‘Mungai Eve Media,‘ which reached 100,000 subscribers within four days.
Andrew Kibe said he failed to do an interview with Director Trevor because the KOM founder declined to pay, implying that Mungai Eve paid him for an interview.
