One thing CS Wycliffe Oparanya is known for is his colourful love life. After claims that Oparanya left Mary Biketi out to dry, he has now allegedly snatched a married woman from her husband and is reportedly living with her.
The new woman at the centre of the storm is Kakamega Woman Representative Elsie Muhanda, who also serves in a senior role in Oparanya’s office.
According to sources, Elsie abandoned her matrimonial home shortly after Oparanya’s Cabinet appointment and secretly moved in with him. And that Oparanya and his new catch regularly appear at events together.
Her estranged husband has accused the CS of abusing his powerful position to wreck their marriage.
The matter exploded publicly after Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale went on record, directly accusing Oparanya during a political function. Khalwale described the alleged affair as “immoral and unbecoming conduct” for a senior government official.
So far, neither Oparanya nor Elsie has publicly responded to the allegations.
The claims have stirred a political storm in Kakamega, with rival camps seizing on the scandal to attack or defend their leaders as political temperatures continue to rise.
