DCI boss Mohamed Amin now wants Central Police Station OCS, Samson Taalam, treated as the prime suspect in the death of blogger Albert Ojwang.

Amin told the Senate that OCS Taalam was in charge of the station and had the power to allow or stop what happened to Ojwang and caused his death.
“From the totality of things, he should be treated as the main suspect,” Amin said.
He revealed that when Ojwang was brought to Central Police Station by DCI officers, Taalam refused to officially book him in.
Officers had called the OCS for guidance, and he declined to admit Ojwang, a move that has raised major concerns.
Order of Events after Albert Ojwang Arrest

Upon arrest reportedly over a post on Deputy IG Eliud Lagat, Albert Ojwang was first taken to Mawego Police Station in Homa Bay, where he was booked on a Saturday afternoon.
He was booked out at 1600hrs and transported in a DCI Subaru vehicle directly to Central Police Station in Nairobi, where he was booked at 2132hrs the same evening.
Amin also stated that Ojwang was treated humanely during the over 6 hours-journey, and was even given refreshments such as water and soda during a stopover in Narok.
Amin says the movement of the vehicle can be confirmed via GPS and that Ojwang appeared normal on arrival. His entry at Central was recorded digitally, with no room for manual interference, according to Amin.
While at the station, Ojwang was reportedly given a chance to speak to his wife and was placed in a solitary cell after petty offenders were removed to make space.
Some officers objected to receiving him because he looked unwell, but they were overruled. The CCTV footage near his cell was later found tampered with, and the word “sick” was written next to his name in the Occurrence Book. Sources say he had visible injuries when booked.
The biggest puzzle, however, is what happened between 9:32 p.m., when Albert Ojwang was booked at Central Police Station, and 1:39 a.m., when he was declared dead on arrival at Mbagathi Hospital.
