A decade-old email exchange between comedian Eddie Butita and former Capital FM host Miss Mandi has resurfaced, generating mixed reactions online. This leak coincides with Butita’s high-profile tour in the United States alongside President William Ruto.

Butita, eager to secure a co-hosting gig at Capital FM, reached out to Miss Mandi, who was a prominent radio personality at the time. Her response was dismissive and condescending, starkly contrasting Butita’s sincere request for an opportunity. She implied that he was not funny enough for the radio job.
“So, I checked out the clip and as much as I saw the audience laugh, I did not. Secondly, we are not looking to hire a comedian because we are not trying to fit in with what radio stations do here. Thirdly, the last comedian whom I had live did not make me laugh and I am beyond skeptical of bringing on a comedian to my show. I always source for funny clips. JB was the only comedian on my show that made me laugh hysterically and he is usually on the drive show because my boss put him there. Anyway, I need to get feedback from my boss, I guess it all depends on whether he laughs or not.”

Graciously, Eddie Butita accepted Miss Mandi’s apology and even offered her a job.
“I forgave her and I have also accepted her apology. You all can tell Mandi that I have no problem with her. I wish you all the best and I believe in your work, currently, we have SPM Buzz and we have segments there and we are willing to work with you. You can bring your cooking show because we believe in your work,” Butita said.
