West Ham footballer Kurt Zouma is probably crying a river after Adidas ended partnership with him. This was after a video posted online showed the footballer kicking his cat like a foot ball and slapping it.
The West Ham defender is seen attacking the pet at his mansion while his brother films him.He drops the cat and boots it in mid air across the kitchen floor.
He then chases the animal around his dining room in front of a child as the cameraman laughs. He also hurls a pair of shoes at the pet which frantically tries to escape.
Lastly, he was seen forcefully slapping the cat in the face and out of the child’s arms.

Fine
As a result, the club fined him £250,000 as they condemned his malicious attack on the poor cat. And the fee will be donated to animal welfare charities.
Zouma, after the internet went wild with rage, issued an apology which clearly fell on deaf ears.
He said: “I want to apologize for my actions. There are no excuses for my behavior, which I sincerely regret.
I also want to say how deeply sorry I am to anyone who was upset by the video. I would like to assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy. They are loved and cherished by our entire family, and this behavior was an isolated incident that will not happen again.”

Adidas backs off
In the unprecedented turn of events, Adidas announced that they will no longer work with the player.
“We have concluded our investigation,” the company said in a statement, “and can confirm Kurt Zouma is no longer an Adidas contracted athlete.”
cats taken away
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is liaising with Essex Police about the incident. And also took pet cats away.
West Ham said Zouma “willingly complied with the steps taken in the initial stage of the process, including delivering his family’s two cats to the RSPCA for assessment”.
An RSPCA spokesperson said: “This is a very upsetting video. It’s never acceptable to kick, hit or slap an animal, for punishment or otherwise.”
Dr Maggie Roberts, of charity Cats Protection, said: “Any person seen or suspected of treating an animal badly, whether this is physical violence, neglect or any other form of cruelty should be reported to the RSPCA... Beating up a cat will only cause it to suffer physically and mentally.

Zouma, who won the Premier League twice with Chelsea after joining them in 2014, has scored one goal in 12 games since moving to West Ham.
What are your thoughts on the same?
Do not get a pet if you’re mentally unstable or are not in a good place to take care of it.
