Absa Bank Kenya has launched an innovation that allows its customers to access their accounts and transact via WhatsApp dubbed Abby.
So through Abby, customers will be in a position to conduct some of the most popular digital transactions in the market.
To register for Absa WhatsApp banking, Save Abby’s number 0710 130 000 as a contact on your cell phone.
Open WhatsApp and search for Abby in your contact list. And say ‘Hello’ to register and follow the steps to start transacting.
Speaking during the official launch of this service, Managing Director Jeremy Awori said the move is an exhibition of the bank’s commitment to continue investing in digitally led innovative solutions.

He also added that Abby is as safe and secure as any of their other channels. The platform has also been reviewed and approved by Central Bank of Kenya as an official banking channel having satisfied all safety and security requirements.
Jeremy also added that this is a first-of-a-kind chatbot in Kenya. Since it combines both informational and transactional capabilities to make it easier, faster and better for the customers to bank.
He also made it clear that the main idea is to turn banking from being a series of actions and complex processes into a simple WhatsApp conversation.
The bank also promised to continue playing a role towards ensuring that financial services are increasingly accessible to all. And that their customers can interact with them at any moment, in an easier faster and better way.
However, they asked their customers to bear with her if she doesn’t respond automatically. Because she doesn’t understand Swahili.
We ask you to bear with her if she doesn’t automatically understand all your instructions or questions, or when she doesn’t understand Kiswahili. She will learn over time.
