Legendary Kenyan Rugby Player Humphrey Kayange– popularly known as tall– has been inducted into the World Rugby’s Hall of Fame.
World Rugby introduced its first inductees in 2006. Since then, national teams, rugby greats and supporters have always been inducted.

Humphrey was also recently appointed to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The IOC Athletes’ Commission comprises members elected by athletes to represent them in the Olympic Movement.So through them, the views of the athletes are represented and resources to assist athletes are shared.
Kayange was also nominated for IRB Sevens Player of the Year in 2009. And was awarded the Presidential Order of Golden Warrior (OGW) for services in sport in 2010.
The 39-year-old have had a successful career evidently. And being inducted into the Hall of Fame is just the cherry on top.

Others, who were inducted include Fijian Olympic Rugby winning Sevens captain Osea Kolinisau, former England Rugby captain Will Carling and Manuel-Carpenter, who won silver with New Zealand as rugby sevens made its Olympic debut in Brazil.
When making the announcement, World Rugby Chairman Sir Bill Beaumont praised the inductees stating that they did not only leave a legacy in the field of play but also advanced the sport.
On behalf of World Rugby, I would like to congratulate our six Hall of Fame inductees, who did not just make their mark on the field of play, but who has played a significant role in advancing the sport, he noted.
President Uhuru has joined others in congratulating Humphrey for being the first East African to enter the 164-person list of world rugby luminaries. And also challenged other rugby players to be like him.
