Media personality Steve Maghana, better known as Oga Obinna, has shared that he once paid KSh 1.8 million to clear a car loan for a woman he says he did not even love.
Obinna told Flossy Trukid how he found out that his then partner was quietly struggling with a heavy car loan. He noticed how stressed she was and decided to step in, even though the relationship was not built on love.
He explained that he withdrew almost KSh 2 million from the bank and made sure the money was used to fully clear the loan. According to Obinna, his decision came from respect and a sense of responsibility, not romance.
“At that time, I didn’t love her, but I respected her,” he said, adding that when people are building something together, they should help each other through problems.
Things later took a turn after the relationship ended. Oga Obinna said the issue turned into a public scandal, forcing him to share bank receipts online to prove he had paid the loan. He said he did this to protect his name.
The YouTuber also revealed that helping partners financially is not new to him. He has bought cars for women he has been involved with before, including two for one of his baby mamas.
His story has sparked debate online, with many people questioning how much someone should sacrifice for a partner, especially when love is not involved.
