Friends of the late gospel singer Betty Bayo have praised her courage in her final days.
According to her best friend, Shiro Wa GP, Betty was alone at home when her condition worsened. Late at night, after her friends had left to rest, Betty Bayo started bleeding while sleeping. Despite her weakness, she dragged herself downstairs, got into her car, and honked loudly to alert neighbors.
The neighbors rushed Betty Bayo to AAR Hospital, but allegedly, the facility could not admit her immediately because of lack of funds.
Shiro Wa GP then paid KSh 260,000 for her admission. Earlier, a group of 30 friends had contributed KSh 1.3 million and kept Betty’s condition secret, respecting her wish to keep her illness private.
Shiro described Betty Bayo as a fighter who had faced many challenges in life and continued to show courage until the end. Even in her last moments, her actions, getting help while alone, despite severe bleeding, demonstrated her strong will to survive.
Friends and fans have remembered her bravery and urged people to take health seriously, especially with illnesses like cancer.
Notably, AAR Hospital has denied refusing to admit Betty Bayo over the lack of Ksh 260,000.
