The High Court in Nairobi has issued new directions in Pastor Robert Burale defamation case against media personality Alex Mwakideu and his sister, Rozinah Mwakideu.

Justice Stephen Onjoro has certified the case as urgent and ordered both Alex and Rozinah to be served with the application immediately. The hearing is set for October 23, 2025. He also warned that failure to follow the court’s orders will lead to legal consequences.

Pastor Burale filed the defamation suit on Wednesday, October 8, seeking Ksh 20 million in damages over an interview aired on Alex Mwakideu TV. He says the interview caused serious harm to his reputation.

In the viral YouTube video, Rozinah, who was married to Burale for one year, described their marriage as “the darkest period of her life” and “her biggest mistake.”

She accused him of emotional neglect and financial struggles.

And claimed she discovered through his personal emails that he told several women their marriage was only for show to maintain his image as a pastor.

Rozinah also revealed that the marriage affected her so badly she once contemplated suicide, saying she held a knife to her stomach before Burale took it from her.

Robert Burale Responds

Burale, in his court filings at the Milimani Law Courts, dismissed all the claims as false and malicious, saying they were meant to destroy his credibility as a preacher and motivational speaker.

He also accused Alex of being unprofessional for airing the interview without verifying the allegations and for encouraging viewers to “share widely.”

In his petition, Burale wants the court to order the video taken down, ban any reposts, and compel both Alex and Rozinah to issue a public apology and retraction.

The video has already gained over 720,000 views on YouTube, with clips spreading fast across social media and sparking widespread public debate.
