A woman carrying a baby on her back caused a scene at Maragua Sub-County Hospital after being asked to pay for medical services in cash.
The mother, who also had two kiondo bags, insisted she had been paying through the scandal-ridden Social Health Authority (SHA) and refused to hand over cash. He grabbed her hand multiple times, asking her not to exit.
She firmly pulled away each time, shouting, “Do not touch me. Leave me alone,” and continued toward the exit.
Despite the guard’s repeated attempts to block her, the woman successfully lft the hospital gate with her baby and belongings.
Onlookers watched the drama silently but did not intervene.
The video shows the woman remaining confident and firm in her stance, highlighting frustrations some patients experience when SHA payments are not recognized by facilities.
Kenyans have many SHA complains. And specially SHA paid only Ksh 23,600 out of 1.6 million for Baby Arianna, who sadly passed away. The incident raises questions about how hospitals manage SHA payments and the need for clearer communication to avoid conflicts with patients.
