A photo showing Margaret Nduta, the Kenyan woman on death row in Vietnam, standing at JKIA has gone viral. Many people believed she had returned to Kenya. However, this photo is fake.

Margaret Nduta, 37, from Murang’a County, was arrested in Vietnam in 2023. She was found with over 2 kilograms of drugs at Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport. She was sentenced to death by lethal injection. The execution was set for March 16, 2025, but was postponed after diplomatic talks between Kenya and Vietnam.
Since then, many Kenyans have been waiting for news. People are hoping she will return home or receive a lighter sentence.
Recently, an image began circulating online. It shows a woman with short hair, dressed in black sweatpants, a white crop top, and a cream sweater. She is seen at JKIA with luggage, a neck pillow, and a sling bag. The face in the photo appears to be Margaret Nduta’s.
But that image is not real.
Who is the Real Person in Margaret Nduta Fake Pic?
The original photo belongs to Diana Luvanda, a Kenyan actor and content creator. She took the picture on May 29, 2025, while heading to Lagos, Nigeria. Someone edited the photo and replaced Luvanda’s face with Nduta’s to make it look like she had landed at JKIA.

As of now, there is no official report that Margaret Nduta is back in Kenya. Her legal situation in Vietnam remains unclear.
The fake photo has sparked confusion and raised false hopes. Kenyans are urged to be cautious about spreading unverified news, especially on social media.
For now, Nduta’s case remains uncertain. Only official channels can confirm her fate or possible return.
