Sallam SK, who manages Diamond Platnumz, has explained why the Tanzanian star was paid in full despite not performing at the Furaha City Festival held at the Nairobi Polo Club.

Despite being backstage for three hours, ready to perform, Diamond, who headlined the show, canceled due to safety concerns.

According to Sallam SK, chaos and fights among artists caused by poor event organization made the environment unsafe.

Additionally, SK claimed that Diamond Platnumz left after Willy Paul blocked Zuchu from performing. And that Willy Paul did so to fabricate beef with Diamond so he could trend.

“The organizers failed to manage call times, leading to conflicts backstage. For safety reasons, it was no longer safe for Diamond to go on stage,” Sallam SK said.

He added that Diamond’s past experiences with theft during riots influenced their decision to prioritize safety.

The crowd, frustrated by delays, chanted “Willy Paul!” as tensions grew between Diamond’s team and the event organizers.

Sallam SK confirmed that Diamond had already been paid in full and said the artist would share his side of the story later.

Event organizers expressed regret over the situation in a statement, blaming Diamond’s team for making excessive demands.

Meanwhile, comedian Eric Omondi criticized foreign artists for disrespecting Kenyan audiences, but Diamond responded, urging focus on self-improvement and building platforms instead of holding grudges.

Although other Kenyan artists delivered strong performances, the absence of the headline act disappointed fans and raised questions about the event’s management.
