Political activist Morara Kebaso, 28, is asking the public for help after surviving a hit-and-run accident on the night of September 20.
Kebaso, a businessman and advocate for government accountability, was traveling from Tharaka Nithi to Nairobi when an allegedly intoxicated driver swerved into his lane and collided with his vehicle.
The driver quickly fled the scene, leaving his damaged car behind.

Following the accident, Kebaso took to social media to share a photo of the man he believes caused the crash, seeking assistance in locating the driver.
“Accidents happen. It is part of life,” Kebaso wrote in his post.
“But if the driver is genuine, he should come forward and resolve this. If he runs, it starts to look suspicious.”
Kebaso stated that he is not looking for revenge but needs clarity on the situation, as his safety concerns have increased. His fear isn’t just from the crash; weeks earlier, he saw an unregistered truck parked outside his home during the Nane Nane march, which raised his suspicions.
As an activist investigating stalled government projects, Kebaso has faced criticism, leading to greater worries for his safety from his family. He has spoken out against the misuse of funds for infrastructure, and his latest work appears to have escalated these threats.
After the hit-and-run, Kebaso stated that he narrowly escaped death, adding, “I flew close to the sun, but I am alive for a reason. Now I know I am on a clock.”
His post has attracted widespread attention online, with many urging the driver to come forward and settle the matter.
Kebaso reiterated that while he understands accidents happen, the driver fleeing the scene is troubling and raises questions about the true nature of the incident. “If the driver is innocent, there’s no reason to hide,” he said. “I’m ready to resolve this peacefully, but I need to know the truth.”
