Entrepreneur Khalif Kairo has addressed the online criticism following the leak of his aviation test results, which showed that he failed his pilot test.

Kairo, who owns car company Kai and Karo Limited, admitted that the results were his and provided context for his failures.

The leaked results revealed that Kairo struggled in several areas, including Aircraft General Knowledge, Flight Performance Planning, Meteorology, and Navigation. These results led to skepticism about his piloting skills. However, Kairo, who recently went through a break up, clarified that these results were from last year and that he has since passed the test.

Flying is not as easy as people make it look,” Kairo explained.

“It took me three attempts to get my Private Pilot Certificate (PPL) right. You start in November and finish in July. But the rewards are worth it. The license I hold now allows me to fly with family and friends. What I am testing for now is like a higher level for airline pilots.”

Kairo’s final successful test results are as follows:

  • Air Law: 77% – Passed
  • Aircraft General Knowledge: 75% – Passed
  • Flight Performance Planning: 77% – Passed
  • Human Performance: 82% – Passed
  • Meteorology: 77% – Passed
  • Navigation: 82% – Passed
  • Operational Procedures: 80% – Passed
  • Principles of Flight: 85% – Passed

The leaked results, which indicated failures were unsigned by his invigilator, Dickens Magak.

In contrast, the signed slip shared by Kairo confirmed his passing scores.

Netizens had mixed reactions to Kairo’s response. Some praised his honesty, while others felt he was over-explaining to his critics. Despite the criticism, Kairo emphasized that persistence and hard work were key to his eventual success.

During the protests of last week fueled by the #OccupyJKIA movement, Kairo infamously recorded a video showing how to control an aircraft.
