Kagwe Mungai, the talented artist, has unveiled his latest single “Útuko,” featuring his girlfriend, YouTube content creator, and influencer Sharon K Mwangi as video vixen.
The ‘Ghostika’ hitmaker shared with Mpasho’s Dennis Milimo the inspiration behind the song, describing it as a love ballad dedicated to their unique relationship.
“Útuko means night and Muthenya means day, so basically you know how you can have a girlfriend and one minute they are like this then the next they’re different, but you love them regardless. That is what the song is about, I love her for the night and for the day. It was just a dedication to my babe,”
Kagwe Mungai explained.
When asked about the challenges he faced while creating the song, Kagwe expressed that the process was effortless as his muse, Sharon, guided him.
He emphasized the authenticity of their music video, highlighting that it captured their natural chemistry and fun-loving personalities.

When asked what he adores most about Sharon, Kagwe affectionately mentioned her smile, intellect, and dimples as the top three qualities that draw him to her.
Kagwe Mungai reflected on his recent Blankets and Wine performance. He thanked Fena Gitu for inviting him to perform “Kama Kawaida” live, alongside Muthoni Drummer Queen and Mayonde.
He added that they last performed “Kama Kawaida” together five years ago. Kagwe Mungai attributed the long gap to each artist’s busy schedule.
He praised their collaboration on the song “Kama Kawaida,” celebrating its enduring popularity over the years.
