Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu is currently under fire from netizens after she posted a video on her Instagram stories, instructing her driver to ignore traffic laws and drive on the wrong side of the road. The video captured the driver narrowly avoiding collisions with motorcyclists while Nyamu dismissively refers to them as crazy. As the pair passed a traffic police officer, Karen Nyamu justified their actions, stating that the officer must understand the urgency of her parliamentary attendance.
To add salt to injury, the self-dubbed ‘bebe ya Kanairo’ is heard telling her driver, “ukiiba, lazima uibe na confidence, (when you steal, do so confidently.”
Karen Nyamu Criticized
This video has since ignited a storm of criticism on social media, with many condemning Karen Nyamu’s behavior. An Instagram user reprimanded the Senator, highlighting accidents as a risk of breaking traffic rules, and rejecting urgency as an excuse for breaking traffic laws. The netizen cautioned the Nominated Senator against letting power influence her behavior.
“We root for you always but that was wrong Mhesh. First of all that’s how easily it is to cause an accident. Secondly, if it was urgent you would have left early. Mhesh, even Doctors rushing to perform an emergency CS operation don’t behave like that. Sio poa, don’t let power consume you “
The netizen stated.

In response to the criticism, Karen Nyamu defended her actions, suggesting that her behavior was influenced by the culture of matatus (public minibuses) in Eastlands.
“Ni kuzoea matatu culture pale eastlando. Sithani hapo kunakuanga na power yoyote (It is getting used to Matatu culture in Eastlands. I do not think there is any power there.”

Another netizen reprimanded the Nominated Senator’s blatant disregard of traffic laws as reckless, urging her to respect her office.
“You just manner less and ignorant, you do not think critically before acting, generally you have nothing to lose, learn to respect title woman, Senate and Nyamu.”
The social media user stated.
Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu in a swift rejoinder arrogantly dismissed the idea of learning from someone she considers beneath her.
