Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has finally surrendered to the police.
The MP reportedly shot and killed Brian Olunga on August 9.
Olunga was a bodyguard to Brian Khaemba, who was Barasa’s opponent in the Kimilili parliamentary race.
He is alleged to have shot him on the forehead killing him on the spot on August 8, at Chebukwabi in Kimilili, Bungoma county.

Didmus Surrenders
The legislator presented him to Bungoma police station and was placed under arrest as investigations into the murder case go on.
On Thursday, police gave him a six-hour ultimatum to surrender to any police station.
His lawyer, John Khaminwa, had previously moved to court seeking to file bail for his client pending arrest. In a letter to the DPP and DCI, said: “Take notice today that Messrs Khaminwa and Khaminwa advocates have filed an application on behalf of Barasa for bail pending arrest.”
DCI issues notice
DCI on Thursday asked Barasa to surrender to the nearest police station within the next six hours.
“A specialized team of sleuths based from the elite Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau and the Homicide department has been dispatched to augment the teams on the ground for his manhunt,” police said.
George Kinoti said they want Barasa to shed light on the death of Brian Olunga.
“Serious action will be taken against any person/s found to be harbouring the murder suspect.” noted DCI.
