Former Kenya Films and Classifications Board CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua has been appointed as the new CEO of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK).
Mutua who is famously referred to as deputy Jesus by his confused fans has expressed his gratitude for the appointment.
Taking to his social media pages, Mutua said that he is willing to improve the music industry to create wealth and jobs for artists.
I have received with profound gratitude my appointment to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK). Happy to rejoin the creative industry, this time not as a regulator, but as a promoter and defender of the rights of musicians.

He noted that he looks forward to work with the Board and relevant industry stakeholders to reinvigorate the music industry. And to make Kenyan music profitable through effective and efficient collection and distribution of royalties, by fighting piracy and promoting the rights of musicians.
He also added that the mudic the industry has great potential to create jobs and wealth for artists. I pledge to work with all musicians in the country to raise the quality and profitability of our music.
According to the board, the decision was arrived at following a competitive recruitment process that saw Mutua emerge top.

Mutua was unceremoniously kicked out of KFCB despite his vigorous efforts to bring sanity to the film industry. A lot of creatives celebrated his firing. So we can only be ready for more drama now that he is in the music industry.
