Socialite Corazon Kwamboka has opened up on her mental health struggles as she called out people who stigmatize mental health.
Taking to her Instagram page, Kwamboka jotted a long-ass caption, something she rarely does, revealing that she recently underwent a traumatic event. She argued that the matter was meant to be private but it, unfortunately, found its way to blogs.
Recently I went through a traumatic experience that saw me in hospital for a couple of days. This matter that was meant to be private somehow found it’s way into the blogs, I’m glad it did because now I can be open and talk about it, maybe even get more people like me to seek help. She wrote.

The mother of two had recently disclosed that she was battling depression. In a post seen on her Instagram stories, Corazon addressed the issues seeking privacy.
Yes, I have struggles with depression. What I’m going through is not easy. And I’m not the only one who’s gone through it. One day when I heal I’ll address just to encourage and give strength to another woman who feels how I feel. For now; I ask for privacy.
In her most recent post, the beauty said that she is baffled at how much Kenyans are still behind when it comes to mental health awareness.
…we (Kenyans) are still so far behind when it comes to mental health awareness. Would you laugh at someone who’s suffering from Malaria or cancer? Would you tell them man up? Why then is it that depression taken as such a joke. What is so funny about someone going through it...
A piece of advice
She educated her fans and followers informing them that anyone could and can get depressed. …anyone can go into depression ( they actually say the more intelligent you are, the more your chances of getting depressed)
She advised her fans to always listen to their friends if they open up on their struggles. Adding that she does not need sympathy.
When someone tell you they’re going through something stop automatically assuming they want sympathy or attention. Listen to them, take it seriously, you may just save a life. I’m not here for your sympathy or to get you to understand me, I’m getting professional help and I’m doing better…
She also had a word of advice to those struggling:
And if you’re depressed please seek help. DON’T GIVE UP. There is always 1 person who loves you unconditionally and is willing to listen to you. And if you can, seek professional help. IT WON’T ALWAYS BE DARK.
Her struggles comes weeks after she announced the unexpected breakup from her baby daddy gym instructor Frankie.
What would you advice those struggling with their mental health?
