Radio presenter Phelix Odiwour popularly known as Jalang’o officially quit radio today to focus on his political career.

Jalang’o is eyeing the Lang’ata parliamentary seat.

Speaking at Kiss 100 for the last time, Jalang’o bade his fans goodbye as he expressed his gratitude to his employer for always being welcoming whenever the presenter needed help.

“As we call it a day, I want to thank the boss and CEO of this place who has always been a boss and brother. And has always opened these doors for me even when things look really dark on my side. Mr Patrick Quarcoo, I will never ever forget, you gave me my first chance on radio, you did it again and I know you can always do it anytime for me and that is why you accepted that contract to sound the way it does, thank you so much,” Jalang’o added.

Jalas said that it was very hard and emotional for him to say goodbye. But noting that the journey ahead of him was not easy either, he had to resign.

Today marks the end of this amazing journey and I’m trying to begin a new one. I’m trying to give this new one full focus. Even if I wanted to stay here and the rules did not demand that I resign, the journey I’m going on is not as easy as anybody would think,” he said.

IEBC set February 9 as the deadline for public officers to resign if they intend to vie in the upcoming elections. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) said that it would not approve candidates who will have breached this requirement.

Kamene in tears

His longtime co-host Kamene Goro cried a river as she bade Jalang’o goodbye.

A really hard one, but your dream is calling! Behind you always! It’s been an amazing ride, all the best my brother! You have been my bestie, sponsor and my biggest motivation. It breaks my heart to see you go but I’m so happy for what you are going to do next. Wishing you all the best,”

She said amid tears.

Comedian Oga Obinna is set to replace Jalas on the popular morning show based on a comment he left under Kamene’s post.

Don’t worry boo @kamenegoro 😂🙈 I’m bringing you huge shoulders to cry on or better yet lemme come wipe those tears, you are in safe hands with me. He wrote.

Do you think Obinna will make a good co-host?
